Tui Bird

Tui in Maori means, to sew, thread on a string, thread. Tui has a talent for mimicry that made them popular as cage birds for Maori and early settlers. Maori stories tell of Tui so well trained they could welcome people on to a Marae. Some of these birds became so famous they were fought over.

Fantails

Mythology of Fantails considers the appearance of a Fantail to be associated with death.  Which is it’s a mythology.  The fact of a Fantails nature is pure in helping, support, guidance by using their skillset.  Considered to be intelligent creatures. 

Magpies

Magpies known world wide they seem to be jacks of all trades, black-and-white ground-dwelling songbird.  What does the Magpie represent? Magpies are extremely intelligent birds, steeped in folklore and fairytale. Many consider them an omen of luck, whether that is good luck or bad much depends on your local tales. Magpies are playful and resourceful, but often seen as tricksters and thieves.
